Living with anxiety - and finding your way through it
Anxiety can show up in different ways. For some people it’s a constant background hum of worry. For others it arrives as sudden, overwhelming panic - a racing heart, tight chest, the feeling that something terrible is about to happen. It might keep you awake at night, stop you making decisions, or make everyday situations feel unbearable.
Whatever form it takes, anxiety is one of the most common reasons people seek counselling - and one of the areas where talking therapy can make a real difference.
What counselling can offer
Counselling doesn’t aim to eliminate anxiety entirely - some anxiety is a normal, healthy part of being human. What it can do is help you understand what’s driving your anxiety, recognise the patterns that keep it going, and develop ways of responding that feel more manageable.
In your sessions at Physis Affordable Counselling, you’ll work with a trained counsellor in a confidential, unhurried space. There’s no script and no pressure. Your counsellor will work at your pace, helping you explore what’s going on beneath the surface and supporting you in finding your own way forward.
You don’t need a diagnosis
You don’t need to have been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder to benefit from counselling. If anxiety is affecting your quality of life - your sleep, your relationships, your work and your ability to enjoy things - that’s reason enough to talk to someone.
